1) Структура соединения, зависящая от ковалентной связи.
2) Основная структура полипептидной цепи или нити полинуклеотида, описываемая по типу, числу и последовательности либо аминокислот в полипептидной цепи, либо нуклеотидов в нити полинуклеотида.
Трёхмерная упаковка полипептидной цепи или белковой молекулы.
Взаимное расположение в пространстве мономеров, формирующих молекулу белка, который состоит из нескольких субъединиц.

[лат. structura — строение, устройство]форма пространственной организации белка, которая присуща только полимерным (т.е. состоящим из двух и более полипептидных цепей) белкам и обусловлена различными вариантами взаиморасположения и взаимодействия отдельных полипептидных цепей друг с другом. Связи, образующие и поддерживающие Ч.с.б., те же самые, что и при образовании третичной структуры, кроме гидрофобных. Такую структуру имеют около 5 % белков, в том числе гемоглобин, иммуноглобулин, инсулин, ДНК- и РНК-полимеразы.Толковый биотехнологический словарь. Русско-английский. > четвертичная структура белка
